ICELAND

Home to fire and ice, Iceland has it all! I spent 12 days in Iceland with nothing more than a Suzuki Jimny, tent camera gear and hiking kit. It was very much an adventure. Along the journey I was faced with river crossings, snow covered passes, gravel tracks and long straight roads. With a population less than Leicester City you are very much on your own out in Iceland. However not once was I bored, this country has so much to offer and such a range of landscapes to admire. I would very much recommend Iceland to anyone wanting to explore but make sure you are well prepared and do a lot of planning. Conditions change hugely between different months so pick wisely. I went in June just as some of the inner roads were starting to open again. This also meant almost 24 hours of daylight.
